The Australian Nurses War Memorial Chapel at Little Bay
The PHH Trained Nurses' Association operates and manages the Nurses' War Memorial Interdenominational Chapel located on the cliffs overlooking Little Bay. The chapel was built and paid for from Public Subscriptions raised by the PHH Trained Nurses' Association as a registered charity. It opened in 1967 and we have pledged to preserve, safeguard and add to the Chapel as necessary.
The Chapel is a National War Memorial and is protected as such. The Stone Cross Memorial to Prince Henry Hospital Nurses stands at the front of the chapel and is a special war memorial to women who paid the supreme sacrifice while serving with the Australian Forces on active service in war, particularly World War I and World War II. The PHH Trained Nurses' Association encourages the Nurses' War Memorial Chapel to be used for memorial services, interdenominational services, weddings, christenings and funerals for all. We manage and administer operation of the Nurses' War Memorial Chapel and take bookings from those who agree to comply with the terms and conditions of chapel hire and respect this important memorial site.
Those wishing to hire the Chapel should contact our volunteer Booking Manager to determine the availability of the chapel for their special occasion. They are then coached through the process of booking and confirming their date and time and prepaying the booking fee and bond. We are dedicated to making these events as problem-free as possible as well as ensuring that the chapel and grounds are preserved in good order for other clients.
